2019 Cohase Farm Tour

August 17 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

- Free

Each year in August, the Chamber hosts our Annual Farm Tour.  This event is a chance for residents and visitors alike to visit a diversity of farms and other agricultural businesses in our region.  We try to select a small number of  diverse farms each year and this year is no exception!  Farmers and hosts at the farms below are available to show you their farms and answer any questions you may have.  A great family and educational event.  You never know what you will see!

We are pleased to include Hillbilly Heaven Goat Farm (Newbury, VT),  Grafton County Farm (North Haverhill, NH),  Birch Ridge Farm (Bradford, VT), StoneFen Farm (Pike, NH) and Robie Farm (Piermont, NH) this year.

Scroll down for details about each farm or click here for a downloadable brochure. For a listing of places where you can pick up a printed brochure, click here.

Hillbilly Heaven Goat Farm is our rural farm we started 7 years ago in Newbury Vermont. We started with 2 unregistered goats, that our granddaughter wanted for her birthday. We now try to keep the farm manageable with up to 10 registered goats at a time. We specialize in handmade goat milk soaps. Homemade caramel candies and sauces. We have cheeses and homemade goat milk ice cream. We also have fresh goat milk for sale directly from the farm. In the spring the farm is lively with new kids. They are Dam raised and available for purchase after the weening process, in about 8-10 weeks. We have a website with new products available for purchase. Postings to our Facebook page happens weekly, if not daily. Please stop by on line or in person to see what new things are happening at HillBilly Heaven Farm. Parking is available in the driveway or on the roadside. We prefer no dogs as they may scare the goats.

StoneFen Farm, LLC is the sixth generation of family farms raising British breed cattle. There are three generations of Gosses working together to regeneratively steward the fields and forests entrusted to us at this place and time.  We raise Hereford and Devon cattle known for their moderate size and their ability to efficiently graze our 30 acres of rolling hills dense with carbon-sinking forages. From spring to early winter our cattle rotate through 40+ paddocks. Our managed intensive grazing allows the cows to harvest most of what they need to eat and to spread nutrients evenly over the fields. The cattle’s diet consists of seasonally fresh grasses and legumes, and then dried hay when the snow is too deep to forage through. 100% grass fed & finished beef is what we are known for! Ask about our nutrient dense, better beef.

ROBIE FARM

A diversified enterprise, the Robie Farm qualifies as one of the few dairy farms that still produces and sells raw milk and cream. Along with our milk and cream, our own Farmstead aged cheeses, meats and other local products are all available on site at our farm store and at numerous restaurants, food co-ops, and institutions throughout New England. As small family farms dwindle in number, farms such as ours are an increasing rarity. We recognize our responsibility to the planet and are actively working to reduce our ecological footprint.
