Vermont Women and the Civil War

Historical Program, “Vermont Women and the Civil War” presented by Howard Coffin, a seventh generation Vermonter and author of four books on the Civil War. The story of Vermont Women  as they worked the family farm, keep the wheels of industry moving, nursed the sick and wounded is told through words taken from their letters and diaries.  Hear the story of how at least one Vermont woman enlisted and fought in the war.This event is made possible through the Vermont Humanities Council and co-hosted by Bradford and Topsham Historical Society at Bradford Academy Auditorium, 172 North Main Street, Bradford, VT
