Wildlife on the Move in Forests Around Fairlee

May 19 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

- $10

Jens Hilke, Conservation Planning Biologist, Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, will introduce us to the concept of “forest blocks” and “wildlife corridors” as they relate to the forests and wildlife of the Upper Valley, in particular the very important, and exceptionally large block of unfragmented forest that stretches across parts of Thetford, Fairlee, West Fairlee, Bradford and even across the Connecticut River into Orford.
Jens Hilke helps towns, regional planning commissions and non-governmental organizations with their conservation planning efforts. This includes help with GIS natural resource mapping, advice on prioritizing significant natural features and help with implementing town conservation goals. Jens did his undergraduate work at Connecticut College in Environmental Sociology and then got a Masters in Botany from the University of Vermont as a Field Naturalist.
