Bradford is located at the intersection of the Waits River and the Connecticut River on the Vermont-New Hampshire state border. Once a major railway town, it retains an active business center along US Route 5. The Waits River still provides hydropower which was the backbone for the town’s growth in the early industrial era. Bradford is fortunate to retain many significant brick structures constructed in the 1800’s such as the Bradford Public Library, the Academy Building, Asa Low’s Grist Mill, the Stevens Block, and the Richardson building. Bradford is the home of the Connecticut Valley Fair and the Bradford Golf Course. There is a bridge in Bradford that spans the Connecticut River to Piermont connecting Vermont to New Hampshire. On the Vermont side, Bradford is accessed from Interstate 91 North or South at exit 16. | County: Orange |
