Each December, the Chamber hosts the Cohase Economic Summit. This invitation-only event is a chance for legislators, elected officials, and community leaders from throughout the region to gather and discuss economic challenges and successes. It is often one of the few chances where regional leaders from both New Hampshire and Vermont gather together.

The 2020 Cohase Economic Summit will take place virtually on December 7, 2020. We are excited to announce that for the first time ever, all Cohase Chamber members are invited to join us online this year! Community leaders who have received a registration code may register here. Current Chamber members will need to login before registering.

All registered attendees will receive an agenda and Zoom login information closer to the event.

This year's event will begin with the usual regional updates, and then we will move into a panel discussion featuring local entrepreneurs and tradesfolks to learn of their experiences in education and the workforce. This will be followed by a presentation on career pathways and workforce development by Ken Cadow.

Ken Cadow is the Director of Career Pathways & Workforce Development at Randolph Union High School. Ken came to education after exposure to many careers: studio artist, taxi driver, town treasurer, store clerk, and officer in the US Navy. Eventually, he opened his own thriving wholesale and grocery business, where he got a taste of what it means to look for talent in the workforce. After selling the business in 1998, Ken and his family moved to Vermont, where he began his third career in education. His work in the schools aims to integrate the traditional academic curriculum with in-depth, hands-on experience in the working world, giving students a sense of where they might fit in, and teachers a sense of how the skills taught in their classrooms apply beyond graduation requirements. The result is the fully scalable Deployed Classroom, a model in which a teacher and a full class partner with local business and industry. Ken was awarded Champion of Education by the State of Vermont in 2017 and the New Medallion Award by the Vermont Business Roundtable in 2019.
